Industry-standard quarter-, eighth-, and half-brick semi-regulated bus converters offer 12V and 6V outputs and 6 power levels

The latest additions to SynQor’s BusQor® family of isolated semi-regulated dc-dc converters for intermediate bus architecture applications incorporate next-generation, board-mountable, fixed switching frequency technology, and use synchronous rectification to achieve full load power conversion efficiencies approaching 96%. The six new converters in the release accepts the full Telco input range of 36-75V and provides a semi-regulated 12V for point-of-load converters.

The new release includes:
The eighth-brick SQ60120ETA17, an open-frame unit that delivers 204W of power with so little dissipation that it does not require a heatsink and three 12V quarter-brick bus converters: The 25A/300W SQ60120QEx25, available in an open-frame or baseplated package; the SQ60120QPA28, a 28A/336W open-frame unit; and the 33A/396W SQ60120QPB33, a baseplated unit.

Lower bus voltage requirements are met by the SQ60060QPA55, a 6V open-frame unit that provides 55A/330W.

The SQ60120HZA50, is a 12V half-brick bus converter in a baseplated configuration that is able to provide up to 50A/600W

The quarter-brick and half brick converters in the new release all feature tightly matched output droop share characteristics, which enable direct paralleling of devices without the need for additional external circuitry.  Each of the droop share converters are factory calibrated to ensure the output voltage is well matched. In addition to current sharing, a droop characteristic improves load transient response as well as point-of-load converter stability.

The six new BusQor units offer protection features such as input under-voltage lockout, input over-voltage shutdown, output current limit and short circuit protection, active back bias limit, output over-voltage protection and thermal shutdown. Additional features include at least 2000Vdc isolation rating between input and output, MTBF rating in excess of 2MHrs, and full 6/6 RoHS compliance.
